Kate Aiello has been dancing since the age of two, trained by her mother, Debbie Scarpetti along with the other faculty members at Stage Door Dance Academy. Stage Door Dance Academy was a true second home for Kate. As a young dancer, Kate appeared on the UB40 music video, Sing Our Own Song. In 2003 Kate relocated to Los Angeles to study under the direction of Darryl Retter and Linda Bernabei-Retter. Kate was the 2003-2004 recipient of the R&B Professional Scholarship in Los Angeles, California. Upon her return to Chicago, Kate was honored to take on the position of SDDA’s Performance Company Director. Under her direction, Stage Door Dance Academy was named “Studio of the Year” in both 2017 and 2022, by DanceMakers National Touring Convention. Kate’s love of dance and passion for inspiring young children is evident in the classroom. Kate is committed to carrying on the legacy her mother built and excited to continue to Inspire the Next Generation through dance.
